Top Takeaways From SHRM13: From Hillary Clinton on Leadership to Selling Diversity to the C-Suite
Last week the InternMatch team members headed to Chicago to attend our first ever SHRM conference and we had a blast! The entire SHRM staff put on such an amazing conference! From the mobile app that helped you figure out exactly which sessions you wanted to attend to the super friendly volunteers waiting around each corridor (with smiles) to answer questions to the insightful panel full of advice from leading figures in HR, it’s safe to say that our team will be back at SHRM next year!
The conference kicked off with a keynote speech by former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, which echoed advice on team leadership and how to make good decisions (no clues about her plans for 2016).
While each of us attended different sessions, there were some core themes that stood out and we condensed all of the information to create this guide full of key takeaways.
Diversity – Learn how to get the budget you need from the C-Suite and tips on building a diverse culture internally.
Analytics – It’s all in the numbers and mining through data to track your recruiting tactics is a must.
Mobile & Social – An effective Mobile strategy is the key to building a talent pipeline for the future.
Which panels do you attend and what did you enjoy most about SHRM13?
PS: Special Shout out to Glassdoor for such an awesome party on Monday night!
