For a long time you have known us as InternMatch. We helped you find great interns and many of them turned into great employees.

Sometimes though you needed someone who was a bit further along. That’s why last year we launched entry-level jobs on InternMatch. Since then thousands of companies have posted jobs and millions of students and recent grads began searching, applying and getting hired for these roles.

Today we’re excited to announce the next step in our evolution–we are changing our company, brand, and name to LookSharp! 

Why LookSharp? What’s going to happen to InternMatch? What does this mean for my company? We’re sure you have lots of questions and we want to do our best to address all of them. Feel free to use the links below to jump ahead to any of the other sections and learn more about the change.

 

Why LookSharp?

LookSharp is about launching the career of every student and helping employers discover the best millennial talent.

Internship programs continue to gain momentum as the most powerful strategy for employers to recruit future talent. But as we’ve grown larger, employers and students tell us they need help with more than just internships. Building a marketplace for entry-level jobs was a natural next step and we needed a name that reflects this larger vision.

As you know, hiring the best students and recent grads requires a lot more than just matchmaking. You need to be able to tell millennials your story and what makes you different from other employers. You need to be able to use analytics to figure out what universities and sources are bringing you the best candidates. You need to be able to proactively search and discover the right students to help you fill niche roles. As we continued to grow we needed a name that fit our new, holistic approach.

Ultimately, LookSharp provides a better description of who we are and how we want to help you build the perfect team.

What is going to happen to InternMatch?

LS-logo-blue-orangeWe are going to be making these changes gradually. Today, if you go to www.internmatch.com/employers you will now be redirected to LookSharp.co, our new employer site where you will see our new design and branding. If you sign into your employer account, you will notice your dashboard looks very similar to before, except the logo in the top left now says LookSharp powering InternMatch rather than InternMatch. However, your current internships and jobs as well as any new internships or jobs you post will still go live on InternMatch to our millions of student users.

In the near future, InternMatch will become a part of LookSharp. As an employer, you will be able to login to LookSharp and post both internships and jobs. Students will be able to sort through internships on InternMatch and jobs on LookSharp as part of a cohesive, seamless user experience. InternMatch will not go away, but will remain a service within LookSharp, our larger hiring solution.

As a company, we will remain entirely focused on helping interns, recent grads and the people who hire them. The average millennial changes jobs eight times before the age of 30 and is more comfortable networking with employers on Twitter than at a career fair. Whether you’re recruiting interns, new grads, or both, we understand how this demographic approaches career building better than anyone. And we’re here to help.

The Beta Launch of Profile Search.

 

Screen Shot 2014-06-03 at 5.46.21 AMSome of you may know that we recently made a big change allowing students and recent grads to create professional profiles on InternMatch. We already have over half a million profiles on the site after launching this feature two months ago.

InternMatch profiles are different from other professional profiles. They focus on millennials and the criteria that you, our employer community, told us matters when hiring young talent. So while we allow you to use university and major as filters for your searches, we also help students and recent grads showcase their coursework, project-based experience, and meaningful online portfolios because we know this matters when hiring people with tons of potential but little direct experience.

Right now we have only enabled Profile Search for a handful of companies, but the results so far have been amazing. We’re excited to launch this feature more broadly soon. Profiles will ultimately live under the LookSharp brand to accommodate both the intern and entry-level job search.

Of course we would never have gotten to this point without all of you—the thousands of employers who posted incredible internships and jobs and helped us grow over the past five years. When we set out to build InternMatch, we cared tremendously about improving college hiring. We cared about making sure all students have fair access to the opportunity to start their career. We cared that all students could easily find roles that inspired them and where their unique combination of skills and personality were a true match.

InternMatch has now seen over 3 million applications submitted, over 500,000 internships and jobs posted, and we have countless stories from employers sharing how they made fantastic hires. Fortune 500 companies like NetApp have used InternMatch to exceed their summer hiring goals, and small businesses like Planwise have hired their first ever engineers using InternMatch–allowing them to solve one of the biggest challenges any entrepreneur faces.

All of this is just the beginning. We are going to keep building product that makes your lives easier. We are going to keep building new ways for you to connect with the best talent and new ways for students to showcase their skills and interests.
